Evolving Our Purpose

Those of you who have been following our journey at Bread+Butter will notice things are looking a little different around here. 

In 2019 we set out to ‘help working parents thrive’ by partnering with businesses to coach their expectant parents through parental leave, enabling them to return to work feeling happy, supported and set up for success. We were, and still are, passionate about helping working parents overcome the barriers, biases and challenges that they face in the workplace. 

However, as time has gone on we’ve realised that working just with individuals is not enough if we want to bring about long-term systemic change. Even when a person has the right tools and mindset, the environment and culture in which they operate has a major impact on whether or not they will truly flourish. 

Because of this, we’re expanding our offering beyond individual support. We’re going to be shaping inclusive cultures by influencing people strategies and practices, developing management and leadership skills and coaching those from underrepresented groups in a bid to promote more equity. All of this will help us create progressive working environments that benefit not just individuals but also the businesses they work for. 

We’re so looking forward to this exciting new chapter and can’t wait to make change happen in 2023 ✨
